When we first came to the city, it moved too slow. We used to eat breakfast and peer through kitchen blinds, watching drug deals on the street below. Now, it zips by while we sleep, carrying in cafes and bicycle lanes. We belong in the slow: that period of time we laughed together in darkened rooms and slept on carpet floors.
